The Murray Rifle Co. was Company C of the Eleventh Regiment Georgia Volunteer Infantry. Engagement at Dam No. 1 Lee's Mill> Seven Day's Battles (Peninsular Campaign) 6/25-7/1, 1862 (Garnett's Farm) Rappahannock (Campaign in Northern Virginia) Thoroughfare Gap August 28, 1862 (Campaign in Northern Virginia) Second Manassas (Campaign in Northern Virginia) Antietam (Maryland Campaign) Sept. 17, 1862 Fredericksburg, Virginia (December 13, 1862) (The Fredericksburg Campaign) Gettysburg, Penn. July 1-3, 1863 (The Gettysburg Campaign) Chickamauga (Chickamauga Campaign)Aug. 16-Sept. 23, 1863 Operations in Charleston Harbor (Sept. 1-Dec. 31, 1863) Fort Loudon (The Knoxville Tennessee Campaign)11/4-12/23, 1863 The Chattanooga-Ringgold Campaign 11/23-27, 1863 Operations in Kentucky, Southwest Virginia, Tennessee, Mississippi,North Alabama and North Georgia (10/20-12/31, 1863 and 1/1-2/29, 1864) Campaign from the Rapidan to the James River, Virginia (early May, 1864) The Richmond Campaign The Appomattox Campaign (March 29-April 9, 1865) The Eleventh Georgia surrendered April 9, 1865 at Appomattox Court House, with the Army of Northern Virginia. As you can see , many of the dates overlap. This is due to various of the units or Company's being under the command of other various Commanders and Units.
