Hi Tom, I have the Murray County Heritage book, I couldn't find any connection with the name's you sent. I am looking for a James Callahan/Calahan, son of John Callahan in Gilmer, then Dawson County. James born 1830 married a Malinda Howell about 1858, daughter of Pinkney Howell of Murray County. I have found James in 1850 in Gilmer living with his Father & Mother, then I found Malinda living with them in 1860 in Dawson Co with a year old son by the name of William, NO JAMES. Then in 1870 I found Malinda living in Murray Co. with three children, William born 1859, Mary born 1862 and James Thomas Callahan born 1867 (my ggrandfather) NO JAMES. I have tried the civil war records, so many James Callahan's, that I don't know which record to go for. Looks like he was living yet in 1866. I haven't located a death record of him either. Any information on this James Callahan would really be nice. I have run into a dead end. Thanks, Louise ldens@baysat.net
