I've not posted my information for quite a long while, so here goes: Searching for any info re James McGhee (1834, 1840 Murray Co censuses, 1896 Memoirs of GA) and wife Mary Couch (by name,1850 Murray CO census). Particularly interested in proving or disproving the relationship of John M (1850 McDonald CO MO census) and Ambrose McGhee to each other and to James and Mary. They are believed to be the sons of James and possibly of Mary. Proven children of James are Burton, James Monroe (who is buried in Murray CO), Albert, Larkin, and Elizabeth. The two youngest, Albert & Elizabeth were born TN 1830s, John, the eldest, and Burton in NC. Now to other business. Several of us researching this line are planning a trip to Murray CO in mid-March. I know about the historical society which has James' will, marriage and burial info on James Monroe, marriage info on Burton, and other interesting information.
