You are soooo sweet to send this to me. It sounds like it is the story for sure. Supposedly being Cherokee at that time was not something you wanted anyone to know but the family story has always been that Mary Elizabeth was Cherokee. You will notice you also don't see anything in the story about the KKK being involved.
