    2. Carolyn Sutton
    3. Hello, I am new to the list, and any information anyone can help me with, will be greatly appreciated. I was born and raised in Murray Co. in the Cisco Mountain's. My father's name is Calvin Silvers. His father's name was Charlie Luther Silvers, married to Ina Mae Carroll. Charlie's father's name was William Jackson Silver, married to Martha Jane "Mattie" White. Mattie White Silver's parent's were David White and Sara Elizabeth Hughes. David White at one time was Postmaster on Doogan Mountain. On down the road from their house, his wife was Postmaster. Can anyone tell me why both, man and wife, was Postmaster near the same place ? Their house stood on top of Doogan Mountain. The spring is still there next to the road. Can anyone help me with any info. on David White's Ancestor's and his wife Sara's Ancestor's ? The Hughes family, I think, was from somewhere in TN. The White family, I have no idea. Any help would be grateful. Thank You in advance. Note: The Silver or Silvers name was originally spelled, Silber, it is a German name. My Immigrant Ancestor, Jurg Silber came to PA, from Germany, and lived in Maryland. In English his name means, George Silver. He had a set of twin's, boy and girl, named, George and Elizabeth Silver and later a son named Jacob.. George was in the Revolutionary War. He received a Land grant in NC. The Silver Ancestral home still stands there today in Kona, NC. George Silver's son John, who married Mary ? migrated to Gilmer Co. GA in the 1840's or early 1850's. He had a son named Thomas Jackson Silver who married his first cousin, Mary Mira "Polly" Silver. They lived at Cisco, at the foot of Doogan, Mountain. Thomas's son was named William Jackson Silver who married Mattie White, the subject's I am inquiring about. I don't know which one of my Ancestor's added the s to Silver, but I remember my grandfather, Charlie, telling us children that an s does not belong on the name Silver, so, I too! k it off of my Silver name. Thank you for listening. Carolyn Silver Sutton
