Someone recently asked me about the "Murray County Heritage" book. At that time, I didn't know if there were still copies available. For those interested, Whitfield-Murray Historical Society (aka "the archives" or "Crown Gardens & Archives") does still have copies of the book. The books are on special right now, but that's only until the last day of February. Contact info. for WMHS is: 715 Chattanooga Ave. Dalton GA 30720 (706) 278-0217 Web page: http://www.geocities.com/wmhs1976/WMHS.html (WMHS is a non-profit organization) For those who haven't seen the book, I have a copy of "Murray County Heritage." That one, and also the "Official History of Whitfield County," were both researched and published by the local historical society and privately printed, so they are more detailed than those books that are done up by out-of-state publishers. Unfortunately, I can't offer to do look-ups in the MCH, because it is indexed by last name only (time-consuming). I wish I could. Also, for people who have asked me about the chenille history in North Georgia, WMHS does offer tours of Hamilton House (museum of chenille cottage industry), but only by appointment, and possibly only for groups. They just don't have the funds available to keep it open full time as yet. Visit Southern Muse: http://www.southernmuse.com
