My great grandparents were Samuel Newton Holland (1834-1901) and Martha Bates Holland (1840-1909). They were from Murray County Ga. then moved to Benton County, Ark. Martha Bates parents were John C. Bates..and Mary Jane Mobley Bates. I believe the Hollands moved from SC to Ga. earlier, but know nothing about Samuel Newtons parents. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou, Shirley

Shirley, I found this in the 1850 Murray County GA census. The Murray County Heritage book mentions more Holland's, but not William. Do you have any other names? One family is a Jacob Holland. It is quite long, will take me a while to type it out. I am still looking for more names in the book to see if it mentions Samuel N. Holland.
