Hi Listers, I'm new to the list so will provide a brief outline of the Murray County individuals I'm researching - JENNIE (LUCY JEAN) HENRY b. 2/9/1874 Murray Co, GA, d 1961 AL married THOMAS MARSHALL (T.M.) BROCK c 1892. They probably married in DeKalb Co, AL and resided there and in Jefferson Co, AL after marriage. Jennie was the only child of NANCY JANE HENRY. Nancy wasn't married, nor did she ever marry. Nancy was b c1848, the child of JOEL (JOSEPH/J.C.) HENRY and ELIZABETH DAVIS. JOEL HENRY's ancestry is unknown. According to the census, he was born in GA c1818, although other documents indicate he was b c1813. He may have been the son of a THOMAS HENRY, and the brother of JAMES C. HENRY. ELIZABETH DAVIS, b c1819 SC, was the dau of JOHN DAVIS and NANCY ROBERTS. John and Nancy were both born in SC according to the census. They were in Murray Co, GA by 1850. John had a brother ISAAC DAVIS and a son, John Jr. Joel Henry & Elizabeth Davis were married about 1845 and had the following children, all b GA: MARY ADELINE, b c1846, NANCY JANE (above) b c1848, JAMES W. b c1850, ELIZA CAROLINE, b c1850, MARTHA ELIZABETH b c 1858, and SOPHIA JOAN b c1862. My great grandfather was Issac Davis 1820-1890 married Nancey Elizabeth Creek 1828- 1883 they had 8 children Issac's father was John Davis Sr. b.1787-? mother Nancy Roberts 1797-1886 they had 5 children .
