Dear Mr. Bowman: I have just returned from Murray Co GA and did find a number of interesting things I did not know. Most of my ancestors left Murray County prior to 1885 and it appears they were all gone to Texas by that time. My ancestor settled in McLennan County and later wound up in Falls County when that county was organized. Do you know why so many Murray Co residents left for Texas? I know that my family had followed land grants all the way from Virginia, but I am not sure why they came to Texas.
