Mary, it's been such a long time since I responded to your inquiry, that you have probably forgotten that I said I would look for my records and get back to you or you have gotten the information somewhere else. At any rate, I have finally found my records of the John B Gordon Camp. There is a list of the members (two lists , actually, although they may be the same) and O. C. Goins is on both lists and is shown as having been in the Lookout Artillery. I have several pages of information, including their Constitution and minutes from their meetings. I got the information from the Whitfield-Murray County Historical Society, 715 Chattanooga Ave., Dalton, GA 30720. (706) 278-0217. Marcelle White is the Director and knows a great deal about the history of just about every individual and organization in that area and has a great deal of written information in the society records. So, you can get the info from her or , if you'd rather, you can send me your snail mailing address and I'll copy my file and send it to you. My granddad , Stephen Goodson Carter, was a member and the Aide de Camp of this organization. He was in the First Georgia Regulars from Mar. 1861, until paroled in NC after the war ended in 1865.
