Dear Rose: I was able to visit Murray County last week and found that the people at the Chatsworth/Murray County Library were MOST helpful. The historical section has thousands of documents and publications and great indices. We were searching for a family cemetary and a phone call from the librarian produced a member who mapped out the location for us. We also visited the office of the Historical Society in Dalton. They have a great deal of interesting material, but no one was there to assist us. I also purchased a wonderful book called "Murray County Heritage, Volume 2" which has worlds of information. It is expensive ($50) but it has been well worth it to me. This book was compiled by the Historical Society and can be ordered by contacting the Whitfield-Murray Historical Society, c/o Mr. Tim Howard, 329 Highway 225, Chatsworth, GA 30705.
