"IN MEMORY. Mrs. Sarah Labertha Stodghill was born in Morgan County, Georgia, November the 6th, 1826. In the latter part of the year 1847 she was happily married to J. T. Stodghill at Cedartown, Georgia, and died at Fredonia, Alabama, Feb. 25, 1910. "Early in her married life she joined the Methodist Episcopal church, South and lived a consistent member of the same for more than three scores years. "She was the mother of thirteen chidlren, nine of whom survive her. She lived for nearly forty years in the quiet little village of Fredonia, Ala....Her ideals were formed in a period when our southland had not been marred by the savages of bloody carnage and war---these she cherished as household ideals which are so dear to the heroes and heroines of former days. In her christian life she adhered with implicit trust and confidence to the savior of mankind and believed in Him as personal and divine....Like the closing on a quiet day, she peacefully and serenely passed beyond the borders of time to a day whose sun will know no setting. The wife and mother has ended ife's journey, and rests in triumph over tributlation and earthly conflict, waiting for the home coming of the loves ones who survive her. -- [Rev.] S. L. Dobbs, Roanoke, Ala."
