    3. My bet is you will see BURNEY and/or WINGFIELD connections in or around this bunch. Aaron DANIEL (1739-1800) married Betsy WHITFIELD, d/o Mathew WHITFIELD and a Chloe WARREN and they moved from Tyrrell County, NC to the Cheraw District area of SC and their descendants to east-central GA. His brother, Thomas DANIEL, Jr. married Sarah BURNEY and they moved to Greene County, GA. Another brother, Josiah DANIEL, married an Elizabeth MAY and then a CAMPBELL, and he moved to Hampton County, SC, right across the Savannah River from Screven County, GA. Josiah's daughter, Elizabeth married an Col. Amos JOHNSTON and the JOHNSTON name is real big in Morgan County. This DANIEL family and their collaterals had their tentacles in just about every county in GA and then some. The WHITFIELD related families were the JORDANS and BRYANS and their collaterals, the WYCHES, BLACKSHEARS and RAINES. Back in VA and NC it was the CLEMENTS, COUNCILS, COLLIERS, WOOTENS and just about every other family of note in Southside, VA and the eastern areas of NC. I refer to this DANIEL bunch as the "Lanier-Daniels" because they were the children of Thomas DANIEL and Elizabeth LANIER of Chowan District, NC. John R.
