Roy, There were CROSS's down in Jefferson/Emanuel County, GA area tied to the Daniel GREEN family of Emanuel County, GA. Calsadonia CROSS married Robert GREEN ABt 1835. He died and she married Spence G. SPIVEY in 1843. Robert (ABT 1805-1839) was the son of Daniel GREEN (1784-1844) and a Rachel of Emanuel County, GA. His sister, Rachel Rebecca GREEN (1824-1851), married Robert W. DANIEL, Esq. (1809-1865) as his 3rd wife ABT 1845. Robert W. DANIEL and his 4th wife, Mary Jane RENEAU (1830-1912) whom he married in 1852 were the parents of Alice Elizabeth DANIEL (1854-1924) who married John C. RICHTER, Sr. (1848-1907) of Madison in 1872 - my grandparents. I have never been able to figure out the connection between Jefferson County and Madison but there has to be one... One other tid-bit I have recently learned. The Robert G. DANIELL family of Athens, GA is related to my DANIEL family of Jefferson and later Morgan County, GA. This DANIEL family lived in ABT the 700 block of South Milledge Avenue, Athens, Clarke County, GA from BEF 1880-1940. The reason I know this is because my cousin, Dr. Anne KILPATRICK (b. 1910) the d/o Irby Thomas KILPATRICK and Eva Pauline RICHTER, told me the family the DANIEL family that lived behind them in Athens in 1939 was related to the RICHTERS and this DANIELL family seems to have lived in this home during this 1880-1940 time frame. I also know this Robert G. DANIELL of 1880 owned a mill in Athens, probably a cotton mill of some variety. John R.
