John -- Do you have any more information on Thomas HEARD and Elizabeth Napier FITZPATRICK? My husband is descended from their son, Abram/Abraham, who married Nancy COFFEE. You will find some letters on the Morgan County website written by their daughter, Julia Smith HEARD, who married Dr. Seaborn Jones SAFFOLD. Any additional information will be appreciated. Olivia, Yes, I do and I can send you a GEDCOM but I am really interested in that Nancy COFFEE because a DANIEL seems to have married a COFFEE and I am very interested their son, Dr. William Coffee DANIEL. A COFFEE also married a BRYAN, Gen. John E. COFFEE (1782-1836) married Penelope Ann BRYAN, d/o John Hill BRYAN and Elizabeth HARRISON. Penelope was the brother of Hardy BRYAN who married Martha Susannah WYCHE, d/o Littleton WYCHE and Susannah MITCHELL. All of these latter folks ended up in Thomasville, Thomas County, GA. Most were VA folks and some of them migrated to the Augusta area and then on to Thomasville, GA in later years. There was a CARLTON and CHASTAIN family who also seem to have migrated possibly from Morgan County, GA to Thomasville, GA in about the same time frame. Sophronia E. CHASTAIN, d/o John CHASTAIN and Mary CARLTON married Russell R. RENEAU (1832-1862), my GGU. His sister, Mary Jane RENEAU (1830-1912), married Robert W. DANIEL, Esq. of Bethany, Jefferson County, GA. Russell was the owner of the Thomasville "Southern Enterprise" before the CW and was killed at the battle of South Mountain, MD on 14 Sep 1862 as 1st SGT, Co. E. 50th GA VIR. As you might or might not know, there is more than a casual a link between families of the Augusta area, Thomasville and Madison. The WYCHES, MITCHELLS, RAINES, BLACKSHEARS, JORDANS, RAIFORDS, BRYANS, SEARS and a few more, which probably include the COFFEES, are all inter-related. I know most of their connections. My DANIEL bunch is all around them. The Charles Woodruff RICHTER, Sr. (my 1C, 1R) family of Madison descends from the WHCYE family, so the RICHTERS (my family) of Madison are collateral with this bunch, too. My best guess is that my DANIEL bunch of Burke and Jefferson County could be of two varieties -- an O'DANIEL out of Fairfax County, VA or a DANIELL out of Charleston. I just do not know, which. The O'DANIELS are tied to this bunch which makes me look very closely at them but they do not have Robert as a given name and I am pretty sure my 2nd GGF was a Robert C. DANIEL or DANIELL (ABT 1765-AFT 1830) of Burke County, GA. They could also be an LANIER-DANIEL out of Tyrrell County, NC and later Pitt County, NC but we have lots of information on this family. Regardless, they seem to have brought their American Express cards with them which matches the profile of the previous bunch...... John R.
