A follow-up: I should have read further in all of these Morgan County, GA deeds. By 1840, Prudence Durden DANIEL had re-married to an Erasmus S. C. BABBITT of Russell County, AL Prudence also had a sister, Ann DURDEN, who had married Michael MOONEY. These deeds do not list where the MOONEYS lived. Prudence BABBITT, Ann MOONEY and Stephen I. DURDEN were children of Stephen and Mary DURDEN of Morgan County, GA. I also do not know if this Stephen DURDEN was the same Stephen DURDEN who some say was a son of John DURDEN and Sarah NEWTON who migrated from IOW, VA to the Washington County, GA area or not. However, I do know the NEWTONS were a big Morgan County, GA family. This does appear to be the same Stephen DURDEN family who had a daughter named, Patience DURDEN b. ABT 1811 who married a James McFarland COLEMAN (1806-1863) on 11 OCT 1831 in Morgan County, Georgia. I do not know where she died but he died in Elba, Coffee County, Alabama. I assume you also notice what appears to be a Quaker naming patterns in this family -- Prudence and Patience. John R. Clarke Thomasville, GA
