Roll Call; fortunately,I am not the only one looking in Morgan Co for the Beck surname. From what I have found and tons of what I have been given by others who I can"t thank enough, the BECK line in GA starts in Columbia Co with Jesse and his sons William, Jesse Jr and John among others where they farmed near the Moon family. The BECK family moved to Morgan Co around 1810. Jesse's wife named Sarah. John (my line) Married Nancy Miers in 1817 in Morgan Co. The next I find is in Talbot Co, James C.B.Beck marred Joannah Greene in 1849. James was listed as farn labor for John Greene in 1840 census. 1850 census lists John and Joannah living next door to Nancy Beck the right age to be John's mother and ages that match his siblings I have a marriage licence to prove the Marriage of James and Joannah unfortunately their parents are not listed. Anything else that I can share, please write Oscar Stelin Beck Gardendale,Tx
Hi, I have two BECKS around some of my bunch. A BECK married Susan WRIGHT (b. ABT 1775), d/o Robert WRIGHT and a Jane, born IRELAND. Susan's siblings married into the PATTERSON, CARSWELL and BRINSON families in the vicinity of the old St. George's Parish, GA area (early Burke County, GA area). Another BECK, a John, married Elizabeth WHITFIELD (b. ABT 1730) and she was the d/o William WHITFIELD, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth GOODMAN of Bertie County, NC. I have no other details on this BECK but there were WHITFIELDS in Morgan County, GA, early - ran a cotton gin business. A note on this latter BECK family: << Elizabeth, daughter of William Whitfield and Elizabeth Goodman), md. 1st, Jonathan Taylor and had one son Jonathan Taylor, after his death she md. John Beck and had issue (1) William Beck (2) John Beck (3) Stephen Beck (4) Patsy Beck, md. Exum, (5) Charity and James Whitfield, (6) Sally Beck md. Jernegan, (7) Ann Beck md.
