    3. Hi, Do you have any idea where your HANSONS came from, originally? The reason I ask is because a Col. Samuel HANSON RS-MD (1752-1830) of Washington, DC was married to a Mary KAY or KEY. One of their daughters, Serena Louisa, married Maj. Gen. Roger Chew WEIGHTMAN (1787-1876) of Alexandria, Fairfax County, VA. His sister, Elizabeth Pratt WEIGHTMAN (1791-1819), married a Chesley DANIEL, Esq. (ABT 1784-1828) of Marion, Marion County, SC. Chesley's neice or sister, we are not quite sure which, was Jane Beverly DANIEL (1795-1861) who married H. Thomas EVANS of Marion. Their children included General Beverly Daniel EVANS (1826-1897) of Sandersville, Washington County, GA, among others in this prominent family. Gen. EVANS married Isabella Charlotte SMTH, the d/o William M. SMITH and Elizabeth Jordan TARVER of Sandersville, Washington County, GA. Elizabeth Jordan TARVER was the sister of Judge Andrew E. TARVER of Jefferson County, GA and guess who lived by my GGF, Robert W. DANIEL, Esq. (1809-1865) of Bethany, Jefferson County, GA. If you said, Judge TARVER then you are correct. Now, guess who Robert W. DANIEL's daughter, Alice Elizabeth DANIEL (1854-1924), married in 1872. If you said John C. RICHTER, Sr. (1848-1907) of Madison, then you win the cupie doll. <grin> I cannot say this Chesley DANIEL of Marion is related to my DANIEL family of Burke and Jefferson County, GA but I can say that Chesley is a given name in the family of Robert W. DANIEL. The name of one of his nephews was Chesley S. WISE, the son of his older sister, Nancy DANIEL (1799-1862)....... I also cannot say your HANSONS are related to these HANSONS but they may well be if you have any connections back to my RICHTER bunch and their collaterals in Madison or any of the other names I have mentioned, here.... The WEIGHTMANS were the children of Richard WEIGHTMAN of Alexandria, Fairfax County, GA and an Elizabeth CHEW, d/o Samuel CHEW and Elizabeth PRATT. <<< Children of Samuel HANSON and Mary KAY or KEY: i. 3. John, We are not sure whether our Hanson line descends from the Maryland Hansons or Robert Hanson of Fauquier Co. VA., or both. The VA bunch may have originally come from MD. It appears that both lines converge in NE Georgia. Thank you for the information on Samuel Hanson and the associated family lines. We may not be descended from Samuel, but it is certainly worth exploring some additional associations. I don't recall running across any Richter's or Daniel's associated with my Hanson's, but then again, there are a lot of things I don't recall <bg>. Fortunately, I do have my files. Thanks again M.B. "Blue" Watson. ----- Original Message ----- From: John R. 3. I see a lot of names there that match names in my Hanson line. I even have an uncle, 82 years old now, named Thomas Watson Hanson. Several of my family married Watsons. They were always near the Hansons. I hope this helps. I am Robert E. Hanson, I live in Florida now. retired Soldier, lived near Atlanta for several years, found the old homestead where Rehobeth used to be. Near Bishop, which is in Greene or Clarke county. I hope this connects. Father; Hugh F. Hanson, born July 1918, Rehobeth, Morgan County, Ga. Moved to Florida during the Depression, when crops, and farm went bad. Grandfather, Willie C. (Sometimes Chandler W.) Hanson, born 1885, Hall county, Ga. He moved to Morgan county about 1900, he had relatives there. I think Nora (Hanson) Smith was his aunt, she was married to RT Smith. He was a share cropper, eventually married the land owners daughter, Mary Anna Adas, Daughter of HD and Louella (Peak) Adams of Wellington district, Rehobeth Ga. Great Grandfather; Robert S. Hanson, born 1838, Hall County, Ga. Married in Hall county, Sgt in Confederate Army, Co. A, Ga Light Infantry, POW in Pt. Lookout, and Elmira Uion prisons. released at the end of the War. Brother/half brothers - John Wesley, David Wesley, one other that had moved to Alabama, and was killed during the Civil War, and another whose name escapes me right now. GG Grandfather; John H. Hanson (sometime Hinson), born about 1777-1779, Virginia. Married in Ogelthorpe county, 1804, In Morgan county early, won two lottery lots. Lots of children from two marriages, First group of them went to Alabama before the Civil War. James and another son were in school while John H. was a school teacher for the poor children of Hall county. there is a book in the UGA Library that has an early history of Hall county that list him several times. He was a surveyor, and a Justice of the peace. Thats as far as I can go for sure. I have a group of Hansons that came from Robert Hanson/Hinson of Farquar county Va. He had a son named John in the proper time period. Also, there was a Samuel Hanson in Greenville, SC that had a John about the same time. So, I am not sure. The 1840 census for Hall county Ga, has his place of birth as Va. He, John H. was in Morgan county in the early 1800's. He was married in Oglethorpe county (Ga) in 1804 to Betsy Radford. They had property in Morgan county, which became a county in 1807, I believe. He assumed custody of Thomas Hansons orphans in Morgan county, I think that was in the 18-teens. He was a surveyor in the Indian territory after that, he was an early settler in Hall county, and a surveyor in the county north of Hall where the gold rush was. I cannot remember the district he was in at the time. He was near a community named Cool Springs, or Cool Springs Forrest. His second wife was a charter memeber of the Cool Springs Babtists church. in 1840's or 1850's. There were Watson's in almost all the census's where I found him. they were neighbors. 3. Bobby, There were two families from Fauquier County, VA in Madison or with links to Madison that I know of -- the FITZPATRICKS and my RENEAU bunch, both collateral. Mary Jane RENEAU (1830-1912) was the mother of Alice E. DANIEL who married John RICHTER in 1872. Her mother was a STOCKTON whose family I am pretty sure was from the Princeton, NJ area. Her father was Rev. Russell RENEAU (1807-1865) a Presiding Elder in the Methodist Church in GA and AR. The RENEAUS moved from VA to the Jefferson County, TN area and the next generation to GA. Mary Jane's uncle was Norris RENEAU who ran a fleet of CSN privateers out of Savannah during the CW. The SEVIER family was also collateral with the RENEAUS. A lot of "Upper Neck" (VA) families in this bunch including the RAMSEYS and the NORRIS's. John R.
