    3. John, I found some information on the name Crew in relation to the Richters. It is listed under Baker on page 64 of "Morgan County Georgia Heritage 1807-1997." "In Madison on 6-30-1951, Hattie Black Baker was married to Charles Woodruff Richter, III, son of Charles W. Richter, Jr. and Ethel Virginia CREW Richter also of Madison. They made their home in Marion, IN where he was Exec. V.P. with General Plastics Corp...." Hattie Black Baker was the daughter of Veva and Wesley Lemuel Baker. She taught school in Newnan and Columbus, GA after graduating from Wesleyan College in Macon, GA. After the death of Wesley Lemuel Baker, Sr. his wife, Veva Belding Baker (mother of Hattie Black Baker) married Charles W. Richter, Jr. of Madison on 6/11/1955. Hope this helps. 3. Estelle, I know all about Charles Woodruff RICHTER, III and his wife but thanks, anyway. Charles is my cousin. I wanted to about those other CREWS that were associated with Milton Chapel (1894-1934), a church that my grandmother, Alice Elizabeth DANIEL (1854-1924), wife of John C. RICHTER, Sr., built in memory of her son, Milton Abbot RICHTER (1888-1891) in 1894. Milton Chapel was located on her property in Reese Community, which was located in the southwest portion of Morgan County -- about three miles from Broughton and nine miles from Madison. The parents of Ethel Virginia CREW (1897-1953) who married Charles Woodruff RICHTER, Jr (1895-1994), known as Woody to most, were Charles Percy CREW and Lessie ALLEN. Charles W. Jr. was the grandson of Arthur Potter RICHTER (1844-1928) and Frances Cornelia FIELDING and he was the only son of Charles, Sr. and Sallie WALTON. The FIELDINGS were from CT before moving to Madison and most of this bunch is buried in the A. P. RICHTER lot in the New Section of the Madison City Cemetery. AP was my grandfather's (JCR, Sr.) older brother. "Mat" (Martin L.), "Potter" (A.P.) and John (my grandfather) are all buried within a hop-skip and a jump of each other in the Madison City Cemetery in their own, separate, lots. All of these RICHTER boys were CSA veterans and the only one who is not buried there was Charles William RICHTER, Sr (1838-1907) John R. I have a William Harris married to Sarah, William died probably 1838, and the family moved to TX. William's son, Seaborn married Emily Arnold also of Morgan Co. This is my brick wall, if you have anything, I would appreciate it. Thanks, Kim Harris Baker Garland, Texas

    3. Hi, This William HARRIS name is interesting. I carry a William HARRIS born 1774 in Craven County, NC married twice. First, to Mary Drew ALSTON and second to Sarah COFFEE, d/o Peter COFFEE and Sarah SMITH of Hancock County, GA. Another daughter of Peter and Sarah COFFEE, Elizabeth COFFEE, married Charles DANIEL of Greene County, GA and another daughter, Nancy, married Abraham HEARD and sister, Martha COFFEE married George HEARD. The HARRIS name is all over early Madison families, mostly the children of Walton HARRIS RS-VA (1739-1795) and Rebecca LANIER of Greene County, GA. Walton was the son of Nathan HARRIS and Catherine WALTON and from the looks of this bunch your William HARRIS may also be out of the same line, somewhere. The DANIEL family, I mentioned previously, was the children of Thomas DANIEL, Jr. and Sarah BURNEY and they were from up around Craven County, NC. They, also, migrated to Greene County, GA. I also know the ARNOLDS were around this bunch because Bethany ARNOLD married John CALLAWAY and they lived in Wilkes County, Ga and James FITZPATRICK, whose son, Capt. William B. FITZPATRICK, CSA (1826-1885) of Madison, married one of their grand children, Adeline Julia CALLAWAY (1833-1896). His mother was a Sarah HARRIS (1805-1850) and she had married James FITZPATRICK (1801-1844) in 1824 in Morgan County, GA. Adeline and Capt. William's son, Henry Harris FITZPATRICK (1863-1934) was a several term mayor of Madison and owned the Fitzpatrick Hardware, among other things. Henry married Ida Reneau RICHTER (1879-1968) in 1903. She was the d/o John RICHTER and Alice Elizabeth DANIEL. I cannot connect up Alice's DANIEL family of Jefferson County, GA to the DANIEL family of Greene County, GA but I think they connect, probably cousins.... John R.
