Hi, I have some new information on the Mrs. Sarah CAMPBELL who married Josiah DANIEL of Hampton County, SC in 1795. Sarah was actually Sarah COX born ABT 1750 who married a Thomas CAMPBELL ABT 1775. They had two children that I know of. An Ann CAMPBELL who married Benjamin KENNEDY of Effingham County, GA ABT 1800 and a Thomas CAMPBELL, Jr that I have no other information on. An interesting deed I found in some of my DANIEL information involved a 1770 deed of an Elias DANIEL and his wife, Charity, of the Saluda River Area of SC. Guess who was a witness on this deed? How about Rev. Sanders WALKER (1739-1805) who married Sarah LAMAR. We know the LAMARS went to Effingham County, GA and the Saluda River area would well have been on their migration path from VA to GA. Interesting, isn't it, especially considering all of the attachments of both of these families to Morgan County, Ga. Remember also, that Screven County, GA and Hampton County, SC are right across the Savannah River from each other and Effingham County, GA is adjacent to Screven. On another point -- Hampton County, SC. It was not named Hampton, them. It was then Old St. Peter's Parish, Beaufort District, S.C. Also, you can bet your boopy it was later named for the HAMPTON family, which was closer then thieves with the WADE and ALLEN families back in VA. That Hampton you list as a given name of your CAMPBELLL was not for the county but for the family. The WATKINS family was also all over this bunch in VA as were the HUNTS -- all were early Henrico and later Goochland County, VA families and Quakers too boot.... John R.
