    3. Hello all, and thanks for the greetings Jennifer - I'm searching for the link that connects my Leonard English to the Green English family of Monroe county . . .William W. English was the son of Green English. He married Lavinia Donalson. They are shown in the 1860 Monroe County GA census as follows: William W. English 3 1021 990 English W W 41 M Miller 3,000 Geo 4 1021 990 English Leavinia 37 F Geo 5 1021 990 English John 15 M Geo 6 1021 990 English James 13 M Geo X 7 1021 990 English Leonard 10 M Geo X 8 1021 990 English C J 10 M Geo 9 1021 990 English Newton 8 M Geo 10 1021 990 English Marion 8 M Geo 11 1021 990 English Thomas 5 M Geo You will see Leonard English as child 7 above. Now, the hard part is verifying that this is our Leonard. Family records indicate that Leonard was born in Georgia, but the county is not mentioned. HIs son, John Milton English was born in 1876 in Columbus, Georgia, and died in 1958 in Lamar County, Mississippi (buried also in the Shows Cemetery in Jones County). This is where I'm trying to make the connection. Our Leonard was b. in 1850 and married Nancy Benton also b. in 1850. Leonard and Nancy are buried in the Shows Cemetery in Jones County, MS. One thing that really makes me think this is THE LINK is that I also found Nancy Benton in the 1850 census dau. of Hezekiah Benton (which is correct per family records). Of most interest was that both Nancy's father and Leonard's father occupations were that of a "miller". If anyone is researching the Green English family and has information on William W. and/or Leonard English, it would be greatly appreciated. It would help make my 72 year old father in laws Christmas! Best wishes to you all, Ginny Walker English MSGenWeb, Lamar, Forrest, & Perry Counties http://www.rootsweb.com/~msperry/
