[NOTE:Please realize that this is a reply to a GenConnect Board posting, but I thought it might be of general interest to the list.] If you haven't been able to locate Salem Church yet, please send me an email and I will send directions. My great, great grandparents, Gideon Mason Davis & Elizabeth Davis, my great grandparents, William Booker Davis & Carrie Evans Davis, my grandparents, Woodfin Grady Davis & Corine Grant Davis, are buried there. Five of my grandparents' (Woodfin & Corine)children are also buried there--Mason Arthur Davis, Vernon Lanier Davis, William Morgan Davis (infant), Mayde Evelyn Davis(tombstone has "Maude" which is incorrect)--died at age of 4 yrs., and Sarah Elizabeth Davis--also died at age of 4 yrs.. There is a homecoming at Salem each year on the first Sunday in May. Most of those in attendance are descendants of the former members of Salem, many of whom are buried there. If you are interested, I have several old newspaper articles about Salem which I will gladly share with you. I look forward to hearing from you. Betty Yarbrough <bdyarbrough@aol.com>
