Their Online Public Access catalog (OPAC) may be integrated into their Web site. A great place to start is with LibrarySpot (tm) and its Libraries Online Web site at http://www.libraryspot.com/librariesonline.htm. Once you access a library's OPAC, search by title for the surnames and/or regions you are researching. Next, search by subject. And finally, search by author's surname, using the surnames you are researching. One of your cousins may have written a book about the family and used a creative title that does not use the surname itself. Make note of the author, title, and classification number. When you arrive at the library, you will be able to go right to the shelves or ask the reference librarian for help in locating precisely what you want.
