    1. 1850 Monroe Co. Census

    3. Hi all... Just wanted to give you an update on the 1850 Census that I'm working on proofreading. I have spent the last 10 days being sick with some unknown bug that has knocked me pretty much flat, so progress is a bit slower than I had anticipated. I also happen to have some pretty major family events in the next week, and then on the 9th I leave for Salt Lake for 10 days (ok, you can stop drolling now!). :-) My intention is to get to a "logical stopping place" in the census (say the end of a district), and then at least get that posted to the web page, if not put in the archives. Once the entire county is proofread, I will get it sent into the archives and it will be there for viewing as well. Difference being that on the county site, there will be a linked everyname index that will allow you to click and go straight to the page where the name is found. I'm hoping that this is ok with everyone. Again, I'm sorry for the delay, but the flu bugs, etc. seem to be out in force around here (I live near Seattle), and WOW! Do they pack a punch! :-) Mary Kathryn P.S. - For those of you who might be doing African American research, I'm also in the process of transcribing the 1850 Slave Schedules. This is a very long process, and the thing is over 100 pages long on the microfilm! I'm waiting for a template to use in the transcription, and then hope to get up little by little what I have done..... MKK

    3. OK, so maybe I should have said drooling instead of drolling? ;-) <cough, cough, sneeze, sneeze....> ;-) MKK Mary Kozy wrote: > Hi all... > > Just wanted to give you an update on the 1850 Census that I'm working on > proofreading.
