Millie, my family came to Meriwether during the early 1800s. My ancestrial grandfather was Hugh Walton Ector who gave the land for the town, I understand. The Ector family are planning a reunion October 7, 8 and 9 and we will base out of the United Methodist Church there in Greenville. Our goal, of course, is to learn more of our heritage. Maybe you are well versed enough in the history of the town and/or county to give us a tour. We're all bringing our cemetery-stomping shoes. There was a town named Ector and the family had some sort of mill. We want to find out about that too. I would love to hear from you if you have any interest in our quest.
