Vegetables are abundant now, including roasting ears, blackberry pies, chicken pies, ice cream and lemonade. Hon. J.S. Rogers sold his fruit crop to Messrs. Jordan and Stevens, of Putnam, and those gentlemen have made several shipments from here and Putnam. Mrs. W.D. Cranford, of Pelham, is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Billy Dillard, of Draneville. Misses Annie Hair and Lizzie McMichael, of Buena Vista, spent Friday very pleasantly with Mrs. J.S. Rogers. Miss Annie Collum returned home from Bostic last week, after spending several days with friends here. Mr. Laz Wiggins made a business trip to Buena Vista Saturday. Mrs. John Hanner returned home from Plains Saturday, after spending several days with friends here. Mr. Cliff Hanner left for Atlanta Sunday morning. Miss Mildren Collum came home from Milledgeville last week, after a pleasant visit with friends. Mr. W.R. Gresham received a telegram to come to Macon Friday to see his father who is very sick. Rev. W.P. Allison was in town on business last Thursday. Mr. Emmette Cooke, of Buena Vista, spent Saturday night and Sunday with his brother, Mr. H.O. Cooke. Mrs. M.B. McCrary and two children of Buena Vista, spent a few days with her sister, Mrs. J.S. Rogers this week. Mr. J.M. Persons made a business trip to Buena Vista Tuesday morning. Mr. Howard, of Columbus, came down to see after business for Mr. Gresham last Friday while he was in Macon. Mr. Jim Helms, of Japanese, was shaking hands with old friends here last Monday. Mr. W.C. Lawhorn, of Mt. Olive, was attending to business in Juniper last Saturday. Misses Blanche and Julian Youngblood, of Mt. Olive, passed through Juniper last Saturday from Junction City. Mr. Willard Benson called on his best girl out at the depot last Sunday p.m. Messrs. Homer Perkins, Joel and Grover Culpepper and Charlie Cook visited at Mr. J.W. Tyler's Sunday afternoon. Miss Emma Tyler visited Miss Carrie Tyner Saturday night and Sunday. Messrs. Dave Greene and Will Hairbuck visited at Mr. Johnson's Sunday afternoon. Miss Carrie Tyner was the guest of Misses Nora and Emma Tyner last Sunday afternoon. Master Paul Tyner visited Columbus Saturday and Sunday of last week. Mr. Dave Greene and Miss Dora Johnson attended the prayer meeting at Brown Springs Sunday night. Paul Kembal, of Geneva, filled the pulpit here the first Sunday, Rev. Hill preached here last Sunday. Chandler Chalkley and sister, Miss Eva, spent Saturday night at the home of J.Q. Melton. Mrs. Martha Chalkley spent Saturday night at the home of her grandson, Mr. Jeff Phillips. Elder and Mrs. Lee Hanks and little son, Joseph, spent Friday and Sunday night at the home of J.E. Chalkley. Ed Chalkley and Walter Anthony went to Geneva Monday. Misses Julia and Blanche Youngblood were in Warm Springs the 10th. Prof. John L. Taylor is now at home from Athens to the delight of his many friends. J.E. Chalkley and family attended preaching at Mt. Pisgah Saturday and Sunday.
