Messrs. Rob, Put and Sam Stevens, of Putnam, spent Saturday and Sunday with relatives near Buena Vista. Mr. Burton Cooke, of Buena Vista, spent Sunday with Robert Daniel. Mr. and Mrs. Will Eubanks, of Walls Crossing, spent Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Jim King. Mr. George Persons, of Buena Vista, spent Monday night with Mr. and Mrs. G.C. Persons. There will be preaching at Japanese next Sunday at eleven o'clock by Rev. C.O. Harbuck, of Sand Hill. Mr. T.J. McClung continues quite sick. Mr. George Turner, of Geneva, was shaking hands with friends here this week. Mr. Rufus Hendrick, of Fort Valley, is expected here this week, and will spend several days with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Sims, of Friendship, spent Saturday and Sunday with home folks here. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur J. Parker spent last Sunday with relatives at Japanese and Parade Springs. Perry Geneva, Ga., May 17 - Mr. Ben Fowler and mother and three children spent Monday in Mauk. Mr. Simeon Lawhorn was in Mauk Saturday. Messrs. R. H. Hamilton and John Christopher, made a business trip to Mauk Saturday. Mr. John Christopher attended preaching at Spring Hill Saturday. Mrs. Dollie Wyatt, who has been sick for three months, died Thursday night. She leaves a husband and five children. The remains were interred in the Heath cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. W.O. Wall will preach at Galatia the fifth Sunday. Mrs. George Perry was very sick last week but is improving at this writing. We are sorry to report that Mrs. J.T. McCorkle is still on crutches. Chapman is quite sick this week. Mrs. Carrie Perry, of Junction City, is spending this week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Stringfellow. Mr. J.J. Weaver was in our village last Tuesday. Miss Katy Lou Bullock, of Buena Vista, is visiting her sister, Mrs. G.W. Posey here. Mr. H.J. Parker, of Japanese, was shaking hands with friends here last Monday. Dr. Brooks, of Geneva, was called to the bedside of Mrs. J.T. Harris last Thursday. Mr. Will Gorman and family, of Atlanta, spent several days here fishing last week. Mr. J.T. Harris was called from his saw mill last Friday by the sickness of his wife. Messrs. C.B. Lawrence and Arthur Hand were attending to business in Juniper this week. Quite a crowd attended the fish-fry at Lowe's Lake last Saturday. All report a good time and plenty of fish. Mrs. W.G. Odom was shopping in Columbus last Saturday. Messrs. Willard, Joseph and little Frank Benson spent last Saturday night and Sunday with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H.J. Benson, at Geneva. Dr. Basden, of Box Springs, was here Saturday. Rev. W.P. Allison, our tax receiver, made his round here last Monday. Mr. Allison has a host of friends in this district who are always glad to see him. There will be a three days general meeting at Box Springs commencing on Friday before the fifth Sunday. Everybody invited. Rev. S.T. Smith, of Geneva, filled his regular appointment here Sunday. Miss Floyd Story returned home Sunday after a week's stay at Seminole. Mr. J.B. McBrayer was in Buena Vista Saturday. The tax receiver, Mr. Allison, passed through the city Thursday. Messrs. J.R. and J.F. Dobbs were in Buena Vista Saturday. Misses McBrayer and Story and Messrs. Taylor and McBrayer took a stroll up to Curran Sunday afternoon. Mr. Scott, of Seminole, spent a few hours with relatives here Sunday. Little Myrtice Story is on the sick list this week. Gingerel The Marion County Patriot, No. 19 Friday, May 21, 1909 Page Four Rabbit The community around Moore's Chapel was deeply saddened Thursday by the death of Mrs. Wyatt, after a sickness of several weeks. Mrs. Wyatt has spent the greater part of her life in Talbot County, having lived here only a short while. Her remains were interred in the Heath cemetery in Talbot Co. She leaves a husband and five children to mourn their loss. Mrs. Addie Baker died at her home in Mauk Sunday and was buried at the Pine Level cemetery Tuesday. She leaves a husband and daughter. Mrs. Docia Pervis and Miss Lala Bloodsworth acted as organists. Mr. and Mrs. Bascom Parker, of Brantley, spent Saturday and Sunday the guests of Mr. J.H. Spear and family. Mrs. Joe Mackey, of Irma, visited her sister, Mrs. J.B. Cartwright, last week. Mrs. Bessie McMickel returned home from Putnam Sunday, where she has been spending a week with her daughter, who is quite sick. Mr. Herbert Green and Miss Dora Johnson, Mr. Will Hairbuck and Miss Liza Johnson, Mr. Justin Harris and Miss Norah Tyler, Mr. Homer Perkins and Miss Emma Tyler attended preaching and prayer meeting at Brown Springs Sunday evening. Mr. Walter Tyner, of Girard, Ala., who has been visiting his parents here, returned home last Friday accompanied by his father and Mr. Thomas Tyler (Tyner ?). Dr. Baisden, of Box Springs, was in our midst recently. Mr. Marion, Tyner, of Girard, Ala., visited his parents here last Sunday. Mr. Herbert Greene, who has been traveling in north-west Alabama, returned home last week. Messrs. A.J. Roberson and Mose Lawhorn passed through our section last Saturday, enroute to Buena Vista. Quite a crowd of young people enjoyed themselves at Hollis's mill fishing recently. Miss Dovie Cannon has returned home from Doerun, after several days' visit with relatives.
