    2. The Marion County Patriot, No. 28 Friday, July 23, 1909 Page Three Moore's Chapel Albert Harris, colored, was arrested Monday, charged with stealing and carrying concealed pistol. He was lodged in the Buena Vista jail. The little child of Mr. Floyd Ohearon was laid to rest in the Pine Level cemetery Monday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Smith left Friday morning for Alabama to spend some time. Mr. Gordon Hanson made a business trip to Talbotton Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Montgomery, of Junction City, visited their mother, Mrs. Bettie Montgomery, Sunday. Mr. Walter McGinty attended preaching at Liberty Sunday. Guess he carried his best girl as he was out so late. Messrs. Homer and Lon McGinty attended the singing at Spring Hill Sun. Mrs. W.A. McGinty spent Tuesday in Junction City. Nobody's Darling The Marion County Patriot, No. 28 Friday, July 23, 1909 Page Three Pineville Mr. S.T. Wilson, of Buena Vista is visiting his father, Capt. Wilson here. Mrs. Hughes, McIver and Lily Smith and Mattie L. Wilson have returned after a pleasant visit to Tybee By the Sea. Judge Hughes says he is glad they are back again, for while they were gone it seemed to him as if the union depot had moved away. Miss Stella Hughes and Malcom Cyrus Smith, of Brooklet, Ga., are visiting Judge Hughes and family here. Mr. and Mrs. John William Wilson and daughter, Floried Julian, of Columbus, will come here next Sunday the 25th, for the balance of the season. Mrs. Hughes, with her school and a few friends, will have their annual school picnic the 28th inst. on that same wet dry creek from which John W. Wilson has promised a sufficiency of trout, cat, etc. J.L., S.T. and J.W. Wilson will assist Judge Hughes and others in seining dry creek and its lakes and tributaries the 26th and 27th of July. Samuel T. Wilson, Jr., of Buena Vista, is expected here next week. Misses Nadine, Bessie and Girlie Wilson and Miss Marie Mitchell, of Buena Vista, are expected on the occasion of the 28th. J.D. Wilson, Jr., of Buena Vista, is visiting relatives here and trying the rural life a whirl. Mary E. Mr. Eugene Drane has the best corn in the county. He has ten acres that is estimated from fifty to seventy-five bushels to the acre. Wm. Langford's little son has been quite sick but is better at this writing. Mrs. Maggie Gooding has returned home after spending two weeks with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Jackson, at Doerun. Miss Elye Kisor, of Draneville, has charge of a music class here. W.B. Upton and Mrs. Stella Pearson and children visited Mrs. W.C. Lawhorn last week. Several of our young people attended the singing at Spring Hill Sunday. Simeon Lawhorn went to Columbus last week and purchased a fine organ. Miss Addie Baldwin and Mrs. Cora Tyler were the guests at the home of Mr. J.E. Chalkley Saturday. Mr. Cliff Tyler and family, of Sand Hill, visited relatives here last week. Mrs. Martha Chalkley is quite sick at this writing. Miss Blanche Youngblood spent last Sunday with home folks here. The protracted meeting closed Sunday with four additions to the church. Mrs. Leila Chalkley and Mr. S.W. Anthony went to Buena Vista Friday. Miss Eva Chalkley spent Saturday night with Miss Josie Mitchell at Spring Hill. Elder Duncan, of Ripley, Miss., preached at Mt. Pisgah Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Miss Delma Bickley returned to her home near Howard Tuesday accompanied by her niece, Miss Lillie Mae Anthony. Messrs. Brown and Hand have moved their sawmill to the J.E. Chalkley place and began sawing last Monday. Ed Chalkley made a business trip to Columbus Thursday. W.C. Lawhorn visited his son Floyd in Columbus a few days last week. Toby
