Mr. Grover Parker attended the picnic at Pine Knot Springs last Saturday. Miss Lilla Mae Parker is spending this week with her sister, Mrs. J.B. Simms, at Friendship. Miss Bura Parker is spending this week in Buena Vista. Mrs. H.J. Parker and daughter Miss Mae visited the hospitable home of Mr. R.C. Rush Sunday. Miss Eugenia Parker left Monday to spend a while with her aunt, Mrs. Mary A. Walker, near Shorts Mill. Mrs. Leila Kembral and children, of Colquit, spent last week with her aunt, Mrs. M.J. Hale. Messrs. Fletcher Harris and Abraham Golden called on two maidens fair here Sunday p.m. Miss Alice Knawl, of Americus, is expected Wednesday, to spend awhile with her uncle, Mr. J.J. Hunley. We are sorry to note that Mr. J.L. Taylor, who is spending his vacation at home from Athens' school, is confined to his bed with fever. Master Isido Harris, of Juniper, is spending some time with relatives at Japanese. Miss Rotha McClung spent last week in Buena Vista with her sister, Mrs. W.J. Parker, who is quite sick. Mr. Horace Cook, of Box Springs, visited his best girl at Oak Grove last Sunday afternoon. Miss Addie Carden, of Brantley, spent Saturday and Sunday with Misses Obbie and Jessie Hendrick. Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Simms visited home folks at Japanese Saturday and Sunday. Mr. Henry Harris and Mr. Bird Douglas, of Shorts Mill, spent last Sunday with friends at Japanese. Allison and children, of Oglethorpe, are visiting her parents, Rev. and Mrs. Allison here for a few days. Mrs. Marlin Hardage, who has been quite sick at the home of her father, Mr. C.B. Goodroe, is improving. Mr. and Mrs. G.M. Benson, Mr. and Mrs. J. Ellis Benson and children were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Martin in Buena Vista Sunday. Mr. D.E. Crye has returned home from Hot Springs, Ark. And Texas, where he has been recuperating his health and visiting relatives. Misses Cora Hendricks, Hallie and Maude Parker and Messrs. Loyd Cartwright and Edmond Perry, of Tazewell visited Mr. and Mrs. Bascom Parker Saturday and Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Bascom Parker entertained a few friends Saturday evening from eight to eleven o'clock. Games were played and music was rendered by Misses Amy Hardage and Forest Browning and Messrs. Charlie and Elbert Goodroe, after which delicious cream was served. Messrs. C.B. Goodroe, Marlin Edge, Harper Goodroe and D.E. Crye are attending the district meeting in Buena Vista this week. Nelson are numbered with the sick this week. Mr. Mack Moore, family and sisters, Misses Belle and Susie, visited relatives near Mt. Olive Sunday. Mr. John Jenkins and family, of Box Springs, visited the home of Mr. R.L. Favors last Sunday. Mrs. W.H. Chalkley, of Columbus, visited relatives here recently. Mrs. Favors, of Geneva, is visiting relatives and friends near Juniper this week. Miss Helen Waters, of Columbus, was the guest of Miss Lila Walker last week. Dr. Drane, of Buena Vista, was in our midst last week. Mr. C.A. Rodgers, of Brown Springs spent a few hours here last Saturday. Stevens, of Friendship, spent a few days last week at Bell's mill fishing and caught nothing. Judge Wiggins is as proud as a young blue jay that has just performed the grand feat of its life, the successful flight from its nest to the nearest neighboring tree. His youngest daughter, Mrs. J.W. Steed, of Buena Vista, presented him with another fine grandson last week, that's why. Mrs. G.C. Persons entertained the sewing club Friday evening. All the little girls had a delightful time. After they finished sewing, delicious refreshments were served. Those present were Misses Pearl and Ruby Highnote, Myrtle Kilcrease, Lilah and Inez Daniel and Rubie Lee Persons. Mr. Tom Maddox and family, of Buena Vista, spent Sunday with relatives here. Mr. Willis Hogg, of Ellaville, was in our town Saturday evening. Miss Grace King, of Box Springs, arrived Tuesday morning to spend a few days with her sister, Mrs. G.C. Persons. Mrs. Willis Wiggins is spending several days in Buena Vista with her daughter, Mrs. John Steed. Messrs.
