    3. My May Taylor Tracer just arrived! The headline really catches your attention "My 2nd Great-Grandmother was not a person".... John Adams helps us remember how women could not own property or even bring lawsuits (some "friend" would have to do that for them) You'll really enjoy the history that he provides for us on this subject. You'll also enjoy his story about Priscilla Willis and how he looked for "Meger" for year...she was a McGee. Her grave was one of the covered ones in Shiloh Primitive Baptist Cemetery. Another woman he featured was Rebecca Anna Phillips who lived in Taylor and wrote in The Gospel Messenger. She wrote about her experience in "leaving the Missionary Baptist Church and uniting with the Primitive Baptist".... I thought her life was interesting to read. Crowell School 1925-1926 Photo and some are identified ! Then there are many many articles from The Butler Herald for Sept 1908 - July 1909. You're sure to find someone that you're interested in. I was intrigued to read an obit on Mrs. Lydia (Peacock) Martin. I knew she was kin to me somehow...and had to pull out my chart to figure out that she married the brother of my great-grandmother (Nicey Martin Jinks). And what was really nice is that I could learn by the listing the married names of some of the daughters and where they lived. Be sure to encourage your Library to subscribe to The Taylor Tracer....and all your friends too! Virginia
