As always when The Taylor Tracer arrives, I am very impressed with all the variety and hard work that has gone into each issue. (Feel free to pass this along to any list you feel might be interested.) It started out with World War II and the touching story of Thomas Oliver Gassett and even the telegram which his mother received notifying her if his death. (As an aside, I learned that he was buried in the same cemetery as the John A. Cox. John Adams answered my question. Horeb Primitive Baptist Cemetery is also known as Shiloh and even Daviston.) A fascinating story of Uncle Ira, the stagecoach Drive (The Atlanta Constitution 1890) who lived in Macon, will delight you. Just reading about the personages who rode with him is a history lesson! He later wrote a column for the Macon Telegraph and we have a tiny bit of his work on-line. http://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/ga/bibb/newspapers/jennings.txt The next article deals with Georgia Editor - J.D. Russ (Butler); W.T. Christopher (Montezuma Record) Very interesting article on the Baptist Faith and baptism and several photos of river baptisms There are 34 pages in all -- so this is just a taste of what this issue contains.
