    3. Does anyone know about this book ? Or have information on Alexander Goodson? Can you tell us the author and publisher? I'm not familiar with it, but hope someone can answer. >Date: Mon, 23 Feb 2004 14:43:44 -0800 (PST) >From: Shelley Svoren <[email protected]> >Subject: Marion County Sketch Books >To: [email protected] > > >Dear Ms. Crilley, > >Several of my ancestors resided in the part of Marion County that later >became Schley County. 3. I would love to know more about the Marion Sketch Book. As for Alexander Goodson, it could have been this gentleman who did not survive the Civil War or his father or his son who was also Alexander Goodson. Perhaps Ms. Svoren could elaborate. I, for one would be interested in knowing which Alexander Goodson she speaks of. From research I have done on the members of Company G, 5th Ga.: http://www.rootsweb.com/~gaschley/g5thbur.htm Goodson, Alexander Asbury- private May 11, 1861. Died of disease July 9, 1863. Found on 1860 Schley census, HH 199, age 22, s/o Alexander & Hannah. Married Martha Snipes Jan 24 1861. Mentioned in the letters of Charles Womack found in the Schley Archives, June 2, 1861. http://www.rootsweb.com/~gaschley/g5th.htm Also this from the same roster: Drew, Shadrack W(all)-3d Sergeant May 11, 1861. Surrendered Greensboro, N. C. April 26, 1865. Married Mattie Goodson (sister of Alexander Asbury Goodson on roster below), Schley Co., Oct. 14, 1864. Found on 1860 Schley census, grocer, age 27. Father, Thomas Drew. Schley marriage records indicate a second marriage for Mattie Goodson to Elijah Britt Barrow 24 Oct. 1871. They had two children. It is my belief that Shadrack Drew died prior to 24 Oct 1871. I would very much like to know what happened to Shadrack Wall Drew.
