Paul Tabor writes in The History of Madison County, Georgia: "Danielsville was selected as the Madison County High School on December 2, 1919, to qualify for the additional money. Comer was able to qualify also and received an additional $500. Both became accredited high schools. A few years later Colbert and Ila also became accredited high schools. In the final consolidation all high school instruction in Madison County was moved to Danielsville."
