Obediah Dean Minnie Tallulah b.13 Jul 1862 Franklin Co., GA marr.. Joseph Russell Ayers b.20 Jun 1861 Carnsville, Franklin Co., GA. A good source for HEMPHILL data is "Robert Hemphill and His Descendants 1775-1985", by June Coker McNew, pgs. 292-297 and p.322. Notes: Robert Hemphill, Jr. d. CSA, Sarah (widow) then marr. Obadiah Dean Nov 1865. Robert d.Feb.1865. His ancestors are probably the ones in Tyron-Lincoln Co. (and Rowan), NC mentioned in deeds. Minnie d.28 Sep 1894 of typhoid fever. Husband Joseph Russell Ayers was granted guardianship papers 7 Jan 1895. He died a few months later of pneumonia. The children were then orphans. Joseph's brother, Sanford Marion Ayers, Sr., was appointed guardian. Sanford and another brother T.W., and atom WILLIFOIRD all helped to raise the minor children. Hope this helps someone.
