It sounds like I am out of luck - what do I do know? Nancy >> That's not exactly true Nancy. GA started recording deaths in 1919 and they are available in Atlanta. I know I have a copy of my great grandfathers death cert from Atlanta and he died in Madison Co in 1922. Here is the URL for GA Vital Records http://www.ph.dhr.state.ga.us/org/vitalrecords.htm I suspect Madison County has the records only from the time the court house burned which might have been 1927 - it was close to that date.
