Madison County Journal, April 18, 2001 John W. Moon John Wiley Moon Jr., 94, of Royston, died Friday, April 13, 2001, at Brown Memorial Convalescent in Royston. Mr. Moon was born December 31, 1906, in Madison County, a son of the late John William and Bessie Ann Scarboro Moon. He was a retired farmer and was a respected member of the Harrison Community. Mr. Moon attended New Bethel Congregational Holiness Church. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Willie Jon Pearson, a brother, Dupree Moon, and a sister, Annie Mae Scarboro. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 15, in the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, with the Rev. Malcolm Herndon officiating. Entombment was at 10 a.m. Monday, April 16, in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Forest Park. Ronnie Moon, Tony Moon, Steve Moon, Marshall Pulliam, David Pulliam and Scott Pulliam served as pallbearers. Mr. Moon is survived by his wife, Eunice Cheek Moon, Royston; son-in-law, J. Felton Pearson, Morrow; grandson, Gregory Scott Pearson, Stone Mountain; brothers, Haskel Moon and Lee Moon, both of Anderson, S.C.; and sisters, Ruby Vaughn, Lucy Pulliam and Lila Hendrix, all of Royston.
