Independent Tribune Cabarrus County, North Carolina Mrs. Lurlene Freeman CONCORD -- Lurlene McKeever Freeman, 88, of 255 Georgia St. S.W., Concord, died Tuesday, May 7, 2002 at NorthEast Medical Center. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Mount Zion Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Rutherford Memorial Cemetery. The Rev. James D. Graham will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 Friday morning at the church. At other times, they will be at the home. Born June 6, 1913, in Madison County, Georgia, Mrs. Freeman was the daughter of the late Robert McKeever and Penni Ina McKeever. She was a charter member of the Mount Zion Baptist Church, mother of the church deaconess, member of the senior choir and the Pastor's Aid Society. She was a missionary, Multiple Sclerosis Coordinator and a member of the P.T.A. of Logan School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Freeman, who died Feb. 15, 1995. Survivors include four daughters, Jimmie F. Wallace of Atlantic City, N.J., Erma Jean McGimpse of Morganton, Adelle F. Hough, Peggy Ann F. Fleming and Lurlene F. Walk all of Concord; one sister, Louise M. Echols of Danielsville, Georgia, 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
