Allen 10, male, born in Ga., Mary A. Allen 7, female, born in Ga., M.S. Allen 5, male, born in Ga. I believe this is the same as your Gray Allen family. What do you think? When did Gray W. Allen's wife, Nancy die or divorce? Also on the 1850 census, Wiatt/Wyatt Allen is shown in household # 135 or 137. Please respond. These are my direct ancestors. Gray W. ALLEN (1801-abt. 1870) and James ALLEN (1810- abt 1880) were most likely brothers and the sons of Gray ALLEN and Mollie (Polly?) NANCE. Both born in Anson County, NC and living in Madison County by the 1820's. Gray ALLEN married Nancy MORGAN in Madison County on Aug 22, 1827 and had the following children: Russell, 1828 Thomas, 1830-1901 Angenela, 1832 Fanny, 1835 Louisa, 1838 Josephus, 1840 Mary, 1844 Mathew, 1844-1917 James ALLEN was married to Cynthia, perhaps the Cynthia VINSON that married a James ALLEN in Jackson County on Apr 12 1832. James and Cynthia had: Cynthia Adaline, 1833-1907 William, 1836 Vergina, 1840 Lauraw, 1843 Eliza, 1846 Augustavus, 1853 These two families lived in neighboring households in the Pocataligo District near Danielsville.
