Howdy All, In case you haven't heard... There's a wonderful website called "Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness" at www.raogk.org This site has a listing of volunteers who will do various genealogical "services" in the counties where they live, such as photographing tombstones, copying records at the courthourse, looking up obituaries, etc. These are not professional researchers; just regular folks like us who enjoy lending a hand when they can. I volunteer here in Texas and have really enjoyed it... I devote one day a month (sometimes more, when I can) to visiting the courthouse, library or cemeteries. And just yesterday, I received my ggg-grandfather's obituary from a volunteer in Canada. If you need a photo or a look-up in a far away location, check it out and see if there's a volunteer listed.
