One of Lucinda's brothers was Stephen B. Stephens bn. abt. 1791, my g-g-grandfather through his youngest son, William Neal Stephens, bn. in Franklin Co., GA abt.1847. The father of Pleasant Hemphill, is reported to be Samuel Hemphill,Jr., this provided me by a descendant of Pleasant. His mother is unknown to me. According to my figures, Samuel Jr. would have been in his 60's when Pleasant was bn. in 1811 but this is most certainly a possibility. Parents of Samuel Hemphill, Jr. are reported to be Samuel, Sr. and Sarah Semple, bn. ca 1700 in Scotland. I hope this will help you.
