    2. The February 2002 quarterly for the East Georgia Genealogical Society (EGGS) will be issued in a couple of weeks. Contents include: County Records Clarke Co. (1858-65) This Society includes the following 28 counties: Banks, Barrow, Butts, Clarke, Columbia, Elbert, Franklin, Glascock, Greene, Gwinnett, Hancock, Hart, Jackson, Jasper, Lincoln, Madison, McDuffie, Morgan, Newton, Oconee, Oglethorpe, Putnam, Rockdale, Stephens, Taliaferro, Walton, Warren and Wilkes. Meetings are usually held at the main library in Winder, GA, on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00. The next meeting is as follows: February 12, 2002 - Patsy Harris, EGGS and Georgia Genealogical Society member, author of "Early Morgan County, Georgia Newspapers, 1842-1861," and a former registered nurse, will speak on "Apoplexy, Acute Indigestion and Dropsy, and Other Mysterious Ailments that Killed Our Ancestors." We'll discuss outdated medical terms for diseases and their cures and their modern meanings, as well as some of the epidemics that our ancestors experienced. This will no doubt be a most interesting and informative meeting, and we hope you can join us!
