I need to find information on the death of Mary E. Fortson, born 1869 in Madison County, Ga. Married William L. Tyner January 11, 1885 in Madison County, Ga. She was the daughter of Francis Asbury Fortson and Lucy J. Johnson, who were married in Madison County, Ga August 31, 1863. William L. Tyner and Mary E. Fortson had two children: Fannie Merenthia Tyner, born 1891 in Madison Co., Ga, and William Comers Tyner, born 1889 in Madison Co., Ga. Between the birth of Fannie Merenthia Tyner in 1891, and the record of the William L. Tyner family in the 1900 Madison Co Census, William L. Tyner had married D.C.S. Maronie (Source: Madison County Marriage Index (Book I, 1889-1900), and had several step children. William L. Tyner's death certificate shows that he died November 24, 1941, in Greenwood, Greenwood County, SC, and is buried at Edgewood Cemetery, in Greenwood, SC. The death certificate shows that his widow was Mrs. Emma Hill Tyner; so he was married at least to three different women.
