Powers, who were slaves in Madison County. Harriet was famous for her quilts. Alonzo may have been her son. According to an account by Alonzo, interviewed in Clarke county in 1939, he and his mother were slaves belonging to John and Nancy Lester of Madison County. Alonzo's father was a slave belonging to a Jimmie Nunn. Does anyone have information on the Nunn and Powers families? I have the census information. Thanks for any help you may give.
