    1. Re: [GAOGLETH] Was Gunter, now Smith and McLeroy
    2. If you are in fact connected to this Smith or McLeroy family I would like to talk to you. These are "my people".... and my grandmother still lives on the McLeroy homeplace. In a message dated 6/19/00 9:10:37 AM Eastern Daylight Time, denjer@cdh.net writes: << Concerning JAMES M. SMITH: There are two listing of a James M. Smith in the 1850 census. James M. Smith,8-12 months. He is the son of Ferdinand and Mary B.(McElroy) Smith. There is a James M. Smith buried in the McElroy cemetery in Madison County. The Madison County Cemetery Book identified him as the "son of Ferdinand". He was born February 09, 1849 and died July 23, 1851. The 1860 census still list the son of Ferdinand and Mary as being 9 years old. >>

    3. I don't know if this will help or not, but I've studied the minutes for a "regular" Baptist Association in south-eastern Arkansas from about civil war time until 1890's or so. It seems that the churches which were a part of this association and still exist are now part of the Southern Baptist's. anne W ----- Original Message ----- From: Stephens <steph@groupz.net> To: <GAMADISO-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, June 05, 2000 5:46 PM Subject: Re: Hard-Shell vs Regualr Baptist Church > The term "hard-shell" is generally used to refer to more conservative > churches.
