Posted on: Madison Co. Ga Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ga/Madison/115 Surname: ALLEN, STREETMAN, STRICKLAND ------------------------- I am trying to track down whether or not there is any truth to a rumor about Streetmans and Allens in Madison County, GA. The rumor has it that the father of Missouri Streetman's son, Francis B. Streetman, was a member of the Allen family. The Mr.Allen who fathered Francis was killed by falling at a dam construction site before he had the opportunity to marry Missouri and before the birth of the child. This would have occurred in 1867. Does this story sound familiar to anyone? Missouri Streetman married Isaac Strickland who basically adopted Francis B.Streetman.

My ggggrandfather, John I.(I believe this is Isaac) David, has been found with his wife, Elenora, in the 1850 census of Sumter County, SC with my gggrandmother, Henrietta Rebecca David. Ga Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ga/Madison/108 Surname: FLOYD, SANDERS, EASTERWOOD ------------------------- I have some Sanders in my line but they are from the Easterwood (grandmother's) side. A great-granddaughter of my great Uncle Will Floyd asked me about my Sanders because she said that were some in her line too, not in the Floyd line though. From what I understand, there were several Sanders in Webster County, Mississippi but I don't know if they migrated there together and several buried at Wake Forest Cemetery there. I done a bit of research on Floyds in Georgia and have a bit of information not that I can tell anything from it and still can't find my link but would be happy to share information. Email me and I'll forward your message to my cousin that lives there. floyds4@earthlink.net

Posted on: Madison Co. Ga Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ga/Madison/102 Surname: FLOYD, HARDEMAN, SMITH ------------------------- I am looking for information on Turner Floyd. I believe that he was born in Georgia abt. 1801 and that his parents were Robert Floyd and Nancy Hardeman. I've seen information that he married Nancy Smith in Madison County, Georgia in 1833. Turner has been used in my Floyd line as a middle name for a couple of generations starting in 1846 with my great-grandfather William Turner Floyd. His father, William Floyd was born in Georgia abt. 1802. I'm trying to see if there is a connection between this Floyd line and mine.
