I would like to invite you to look at the Madison County GAGenWeb Archives. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ga/madison.htm We have a new look and a lot of new pages that we would like for you to help us fill with documents to help the Madison County Researchers. We now have a Table of Contents Page that will take you to all the categories of GenWeb - Bible, Biography, Cemetery, Census, Court, Deed/Land, History, Military, Miscellaneous, Newspaper, Obituaries, Tax Lists, Vital (Birth, Death, Divorce & Marriage), Wills & Estates. Some of these categories don't have pages because we do not have any documents for them. Wouldn't you like to be the first to submit a document for one of these pages? This could be your link to another descendant that holds the piece of the puzzle you don't have. Incidentally - we are getting close to having the 1920 Census Index finished! Will let you know when it is up! I live in Tyler, TX - a long way from Madison County, GA, so you will have to help me if we have "The Best Little Archive in Georgia". That's my goal! We may be one of the smallest counties but that doesn't mean we can't be the best! So come on folks - send me your documents! I will be attending the GenTech Conference in Mesquite/Dallas in February. If you are there, look me up! Mary Love Berryman File Manager, Madison County GAGenWeb Archives

I have the Madison County Will Books A-B on microfilm at the Family History Center. Unfortunately, this center doesn't have a reader/printer (they're supposed to get one "soon"), but I would be happy to provide you with an abstract of Frederick Scarborough's will, if that will help. And if anyone else needs lookups in the will books, let me know. :) Jeanne >Looking for the will of Frederick Scarborough b,1801 Edgecomb N.C. d, Madison >Co.Ga.about 1853. Mary I have an index of the early wills of Madison Co, GA, and it lists Frederick Scarborough Sr.'s will in Book B, page 72. It was signed 10 Nov 1853 and proved 21 Aug 1854. Probably the easiest way to get a copy is to order the microfilm at the LDS Library closest to you. I beleive that these books have been sent to the Archives in Atlanta so you might want to check the Archives. When you get a copy, please type it and send us a copy for the Archives. I'm sure that a lot of folks would like that. Good luck! Hello Mary I am looking for Oscar D. SCARBOROUGH from Madison County who married Arnist NICHOLSON. I have no date to go by except for the fact that Mary was born sometimes between 1892 and the early 1900's. You mentioned in your post that Frederick SCARBOROUGH and Elizabeth Brannon SCARBOROUGH had 11 known children. Do you show any grandchildren or great-grandchildren named Oscar D. SCARBOROUGH that might fit into this date pattern? Thank you Ann Nicholson Marietta, GA.

Ga Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ga/Madison/154 Surname: Floyd ------------------------- My GGGG Grandfather Turner Floyd,b 1809 in Murray Co. Ga. was married to Nancy Smith in Madison Co. in 1833. Per the 1850 sensus of Murray Co., Turner and Nancy had four children, Henry P. (GGG Grandfather), William Allen, Sarah Janice, and Almiarine. I am searching for Turners parents. Possibly William Floyd, b 1777 in S.C.and Ann (?), b. 1778, S.C. four children, Turner, Nancy, Allen, and Dillon. I am not sure of this connection. The writting on the 1840 sensus of Murray Co. is hard to make out. Hope this helps you out. Any information you might have on this family connection would be appreciated.

I have just created a new page for obituaries and uploaded 20 abstracts of obituaries in the years ranging from 1906 - 1985 to the Madison County GAGenWeb Archives. Also a newspaper article about John A. Berryman submitted by Leonard Rice dated 1922. A great way to make a connection with another descendant is to put up document about your ancestor. We welcome Bible Records, Deeds, Wills, Obituaries, Newspaper Articles, Marriages, Births, Deaths, etc. Be sure to state your source. If the article is under copyright, please send an abstract and/or permission for use from the publisher. Have you personally copied a cemetery in Madison County? We would love to have an up to date listing of the cemeteries in Madison County. Mary Love Berryman File Manager, Madison County GAGenWeb Archives
