Smith. W.L. was my grandfathers father whom he never spoke of. I would appreciate any information that could lead me to more about W.L.

    3. Posted on: Madison Co. Ga Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ga/Madison/10186 Surname: ------------------------- Has anyone in Madison Co. come across listings of Bible records published in FAMILY PUZZLERS, the weekly genealogy magazine edited by Mary Bondurant Warren from 1964 until 1998? I thought that HERITAGE PAPERS went out of business when Mrs. Warren stopped publishing Puzzlers the end of 1998. Not so!! I recently found the new websites for HERITAGE PAPERS as well as for FAMILY PUZZLERS, TNG, the monthly magazine edited by Mrs. Warren’s daughter Amy Warren Sanders! Most of the items that Heritage Papers used to advertise in their annual catalog are still available, including back issues of the quarterly magazines GEORGIA GENEALOGIST and CAROLINA GENEALOGIST, lots of historic maps, as well as source materials for Virginia, North and South Carolina, and Georgia. Some bound volumes of Family Puzzlers are still available. For Heritage Papers, go to http://www.galaxymall.com/books/heritagepapers For Family Puzzlers, The Next Generation, go to http://www.galaxymall.com/books/familypuzzlers I just thought you’d like to know, I did!! 3. Posted on: Madison Co. Ga Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ga/Madison/10185 Surname: Branyan, Brown, Whitworth, Hampton ------------------------- Your comments and query might be better directed to the Madison Co Heritage Foundation. The Cemetery Book was compiled by them and on page 321 it says: "Reportedly...." It was not stated as a fact. You might ask them from where the information came. Nothing was added or subtracted from the information submitted here from that book.

It must be clear that there is no firm info or link to validate the comment that the above Vineyards are buried back of the Vineyard Church. Also that the name of the church does not signify that Vineyards were ever members of the church, from my researh the church name came from Vineyard Creek. Also if the comment were to be taken at face value where thenis Isack??? Another researcher commented that a headstone might give info. I personally raied the "polished granite" stone- belonged to another family and note "polished stone" this was not type used. Comments appreciated.

Which is correct? And where was it? I lived in Madison County for a time but never heard of it. Their children were born in Wilkes, Oglethorpe and Madison Counties. I wondered if Polk's/Pope's Mill was in all of those counties at one time.

    3. Hi, I have a tip about reading the wonderful Madison County census records. I have tried everything I could think of to make them easier to read, including putting them into a photo program and trying to clear them up. No luck. Just recently I stumbled on the simplest solution and want to share it just in case there is someone out there besides me who did not know about it... smile. Turning up the resolution on the monitor enlarges the writing beautifully, without compromising the integrity. Its amazing how much more detail can be seen. I am not sure how this is done on a PC, but on the Mac, just go to the APPLE in the upper left hand corner, scroll down to CONTROL PANEL and from there down to MONITORS. Nothing to it. Perhaps someone could give directions for PC. Anne Booth
