I have tracked my GGG Grandfather Tillman Thomas Anderson Sr. by his marriage to Martha Baxter on 8/24/1828 in Madison County GA. I have the marriage record. I believe that Tillman Sr. died about 1830 after his son, my GG Grandfather, Tillman Jr. was born. I recently found through 1820 census records from Madison County that several Andersons, John N, John S, James, Jacob & Terrel residing in Madison County. Through Madison County court records I know that John N was the father of John S, James, Jacob & Terrel. Furthermore, I know that Martha Baxter was the daughter of James Baxter. James Baxter also appears in the 1820 census in Madison County. Through this information I believe that either James or Jacob was the father of Tillman Thomas Anderson Sr. I am asking for any assistance or direction that you could provide. Researchers, There is a new book titled "Madison County, Georgia Marriage Records 1812-1909" by Mr. Ted O. Brooke which is now available. The book has both a bride and groom index, and I would certainly recommend this to you to use as a source. I talked with the librarian at the Madison County Library and she said she will order a copy for the library's genealogy section. I have my own copy now at home and it is great!
