I'm descended from Willis Deen, brother to Jeptha Deen; Willis is my great-great-great grandfather. The info you posted on Jeptha's, Jacob's and Mahaly's marriages matches what I have. I don't know anything about the Mercers or Stricklands. Any ideas on parents of Cyntha/Syntha Mercer or William Mercer? Not my direct line, just filling in the blanks. I am at a impasse in researching my paternal grandmother's family. I know that she was the daughter Leila Dawson and John Thomas Spence, and granddaughter of Fred Dawson and Elizabeth ??. Even though I have conflicting data on date of birth, I believe that the Fred Dawson (listed below as number 1) might be the same person as Frederick Dawson (listed below as number 2). Frederick Dawson is the son of Isaac H. Dawson and Martha Doster. If Fred and Frederick are one and the same, then it brings several lines together for me. Thanks in advance to everyone! Better yet-the Madison County cemetery book has the listing for each cemetery and a map. The Danielsville Library would be a great help there............................but then the Court House is also a good choice for getting a map. ----- Original Message ----- From: Mary Love Berryman <marylove@tyler.net> To: <GAMADISO-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, May 01, 2002 8:56 PM Subject: Re: [GAMADISO] Locations of Cemeteries > ONe of the best things you can do is get a county map. Suggest that you try to get your library to get a copy of "Madison County Cemetery Book", it list all cemeteries and maps showing their locations. If your library cannot get you a loaner copy from other libraries, when you get into Madison County, go to the local library in Danielsville to view a copy. They also sell copies. Maybe someone has a copy that will do the lookups for you. I need any information on the ROBERT LEDBETTER who married MARY McCUNE in Madison County Georgia on 8/13/1844. I have a tintype photo on which is scrawled "Robert Ledbetter 1888". The puzzling thing is that I know of no Robert in my ancestry and I am wondering if this is a brother of my ancestor who immigrated from England some time before 1845. JoChastain@earthlink.net
