Hello, I'm new to this list and I haven't seen much traffic in the last few days so I thoght I'd introduce myself. My name is Rick Elliott and I live in San Jose, California. I'm researching my mother's (BURROUGHS) line and I've tracked it back to Madison County, GA. Is there anyone out there who has connections to this name? If so, please contact me either off-list or on, depending on which protocol you've all decided on. Thanks and Regards, Rick Elliott

Carithers (probably William) in your database? I know nothing about him other than he married Lois Roberts, b abt 1897 in Madison County so he should be from about that time also. They moved to Anderson SC from Madison Co about the time my Roberts grandparents did (abt 1929) and had three children: Grady, Rhady and Gussiebelle. I found them in an Anderson City Directory from the 30's but have no information after that. Thanks for looking. Donna Roberts Aiken, SC

Anyone doing any research on any POWER or POWERS families or are connected to any of these families in any way, please email me direct at mcpf@juno.com. My gg grandfather was Joseph Power born in 1780 in Laurens District, S. C. and first came into Franklin Co., Ga. and finally settling in Cobb Co. Ga. He had brothers Samuel & Thomas and maybe others that also came to Ga. I am interested in anything that you may have and will share what I have. Thanks for any help that you may be able to give me. Hi Madison folks! In 2 weeks, I'll be taking a long awaited research trip to NE GA! I'll have 4 days -- if humanly possible, I hope to visit courthouses in Oglethorpe, Madison, Franklin, Elbert & Hart. Has anyone been to any of these counties for courthouse digging, and can you offer any tips to help me use my time efficiently? I've never been to a courthouse for research -- I'm afraid I'll get there and spend half my time trying to figure out what's what! Thanks a bunch! Jeanne Arguelles ejarguelles@msn.com N.E.
